About Us

Dr. Denise De Monte

Dr. De Monte is a licensed naturopathic physician specializing in natural medicine. She has twelve years of post-secondary education that includes a Bachelor of Physical Education from McMaster University, a Master of Arts in Women’s Health from the University of Western Ontario, additional science studies at the University of Waterloo and a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. De Monte is also board certified in acupuncture and chelation therapy, and has prescription authority allowing her to provide drug prescriptions to patients.

Dr. De Monte has the distinction of having the longest established and most prominent practice for natural medicine in the North Okanagan. Her practice focus is on bioidentical hormones and chronic illness, in particular, Lyme disease. She has a vested interest in these areas, professionally and personally.

As a mature woman who has been through most significant life stages, she knows first hand what women are struggling with and what they expect. She is on hormone therapy and has been for many years. While she has advanced professional training in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, it's really her extensive clinical experience over the past 17 years that allows her to effectively treat hormone imbalances. Dr. De Monte has successfully treated thousands of women for hormone conditions.  Every woman's situation is unique, requiring a unique solution that only comes from practice.  Always abreast of the latest clinical research and information, she constantly strives to provide her patients with the latest and best treatment options.

Lyme disease is emerging as the next epidemic infection. It's a complex and challenging condition that usually affects multiple body systems. Treatment is complicated and requires specialized knowledge and experience. Dr. De Monte is the only Lyme-literate doctor in the North Okanagan (and one of only a small number in B.C.) who has the training and experience to successfully treat Lyme disease.

Dr. De Monte has written over 60 published articles on natural medicine and you can read her column on Natural Medicine in the Vernon Morningstar.  To bring even more attention to natural medicine, Dr. De Monte invited Dr. David Suzuki to Vernon to speak at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre on the environment and health.
