The De Monte Centre Natural Medicine is the result of her vision to raise public awareness about natural medicine. Many people are seeking medical care that does not emphasize drugs and surgery, and her goal is to let them know that natural medicine is a safe and effective option. Natural medicine isn’t just about herbs, nutrition and lifestyle changes; it’s a dynamic, science based medicine with advanced treatments and therapies for every illness and disease. Most people are surprised and impressed by the wide scope of treatments and services that are available using natural medicine.
Dr. De Monte has written over 60 published articles on natural medicine and you can read her column on Natural Medicine in the Vernon Morningstar. She still enjoys cross-country skiing, jogging, biking, hiking and playing tennis. Her indoor passion is dancing and she is also a student of martial arts (Tae Kwon Do). Her future plans are to learn how to snowboard and downhill ski, go skydiving and earn her Black Belt. She is living testament to her saying that “You are never too old to be young”. With her strong commitment to the environment, the De Monte Centre Natural Medicine is a “green” facility, one of the first green commercial buildings in the city of Vernon. To bring even more attention to natural medicine, Dr. De Monte invited Dr. David Suzuki to Vernon to speak at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre on the environment and health, and attend the grand opening of the new centre. The De Monte Centre has the distinction of being the most prominent centre for natural medicine in the North Okanagan
