Injection & Intravenous Therapy
The thought of a needle stirs fear in the hearts of some people. But injection and intravenous therapy is so beneficial, and the discomfort so minimal, that even the faint of heart are welcoming these treatments.
Bypass Digestion
When vitamins, nutrients and natural medicines are injected, there is no interference from digestion. They are 100% available for their intended use. Higher concentrations of medicines can be put directly into your bloodstream or tissues where they are needed. This often results in quicker recovery and better outcomes for patients. If your digestive system is not functioning properly, the effectiveness of oral medicines can be reduced significantly because the medicines are not absorbed properly. In addition, some medicines need to be taken in such high dosages that they can irritate the gastrointestinal tract. The best option then becomes injection or intravenous therapy. There are three methods: injection directly into a tissue, push or injection into a vein and intravenous infusion from an IV bag into a vein.
Small but Powerful
To correct vitamin and mineral deficiencies and obtain an immediate result, injections directly into tissues are very effective. The most popular injections are B vitamins for fatigue, an immune system booster to fight off colds, flu and other illnesses, and allergy shots. Small syringes (10 ml or less) and tiny needles are used. The usual injection is into the buttocks. Injection time is a few seconds to 10 minutes. Site specific injections over joints or into muscles are very effective at relieving pain and healing injuries.
Push for Speed
An injection directly into a vein in the arm is known as a push. The syringes can contain up to 30 ml of medicine, too much to inject into tissue, so it is administered directly into a vein for best results. Injection time is usually 15-20 minutes. Common uses are for vitamin and mineral deficiencies, and a chelation push used in medical detoxification. Dr. John Meyer, M.D., developed Meyer's Cocktail, a special mixture of vitamins and minerals use for chronic infections, fibromyalgia, depresssion and so on. The powerful anti-oxidant glutathione is also administered as a push for specific health conditions.
Advanced Intravenous Infusion
This is the most common picture that people have of a hospital room, with bags hung on poles and tubes going to a person’s arm. An intravenous injection into the vein in your arm is attached via rubber tubing to an IV bag hung on a pole. We use this therapy for long treatments (45 minutes to 3 hours) and large volumes of medicines (up to one 1000 ml) that can be put directly into the bloodstream for the greatest impact. The needle that is inserted into your arm is a catheter made of out of plastic. It bends and moves with you to eliminate discomfort for the period of time that you are sitting. Examples of intravenous infusion are chelation and plaquex therapy for heart conditions, medical detoxification to remove toxic metals, and vitamins and minerals for deficiencies, migraines, shingles and severe colds and flu.
